The Proform treadmill is one of the biggest seller and manufacturer in the world. Nordic Track, Reebok, and Health Rider are other brands that operate alongside Proform under the expanding exercise equipment company Icon Fitness.
Over the years, Proform had introduced a variety of models in the low to mid price range to accommodate the different need in their clients. They strive for customer satisfaction and are currently innovating new ideas to increase the quality of their treadmills. Proform treadmills are one of the leading brands in their price range.
Pros
Proform is also trying to improve on the quality of the treadmill. They have focussed on improving the quality of the motor and adding features that allow the treadmill to interact more with the user. You can see this through their warranty; which generally have a long motor warranty, but 90 days for the rest.
Affordability may be another strong point, provided that the machine does not break down, causing perhaps more spending in repairs than the machine itself.
Cons
It’s a shame that this company is so popular because its products do not seem to over deliver. In fact, the main advantage that Proform has over other competing treadmill brands is its affordability. Most Pro form treadmills will range from 500$ - 1500$.
The warranty is a direct reflection of the quality of the treadmill. Proform treadmills are known to have to poor warranties. They recently made extra efforts in lengthening the warranty on the motor. Its warranty is rather short when compared to Nordic Track and Image. Opt for the extended warranty (1 year for $69, 2 years for $99 and 3 years for $119)
These treadmills are fabricated with lower quality parts. Breakdown of Pro Form treadmills echoes in the treadmill community. Proform treadmill ratings among experts are sub par. Proform treadmills are known for malfunction and the breakdown of parts. The need for better reliability, the short warranty duration, and poor quality are all contributing factors to Proform’s “poorer” reviews.
Summary
Proform specialises in the low to mid end treadmills. And we must emphasize that! A buyer can not expect a performing treadmill that is comparable to a more expensive, high end treadmill like Precor. Of course, a 5000$ treadmill is bound to exceed the performance of a 1000$ treadmill.
Most Proform reviews are made independent of the price; therefore a lower end treadmill will most likely receive a poor rating. Regardless, we do not suggest this brand.

For those who absolutely want a Proform, we strongly suggest you to consider the higher price Proform Treadmill for runners. Walkers can purchase a cheaper treadmill since the wear and tear is much lower.
