Healthrider Brand
Company
Healthrider treadmill is manufactured by Icon Fitness, one of the largest retailers in fitness equipment. Proform, Reebok, Weslo, Image and other brands are all under Icon Fitness. Healthrider started out in the early 1990’s and was known for its advanced technologies. To this day, they still strive for technical innovation to help people get in shape without any pain in joints or muscles.
Healthrider bases their new line of equipment on the following three criterias: innovative technology, user friendly console, and low impact. Ifit, Softtrack, and Biologic Pulse training are examples of advanced features in a Healthrider treadmill. (Details on these features can be found below.)
There are over 10 manufacturing facilities in America and their engineers are constantly researching and creating newer models. There are currently 5 models available on their website in the range between $800 and $1,600.
There may exist other Healthrider treadmill models out there, however Icon Fitness only offer the latest ones. These models are still being manufactured and all parts are in stock.
Pros
The first strong point of Healthrider treadmills is the features it offers. Most models, regardless of the price, will have the same features such as Adjustable BioFlex™ Cushioning, iFIT compatible, and 7 x 10 Matrix Display among many others.
Healthrider treadmill belts are all 20 x 60”, which is a great size. It is wide and long and very rare that you will find brands that offer 20 x 60” belts for treadmills under $1,000.
These Healthrider treadmills are also affordable. The most expensive model goes for $1,600, which is a decent price. We suggest you opt for the extended 3-warranty for the additional $150.
Cons
Healthrider treadmills are not the best quality machines. They put most of their efforts in innovating great features, but don’t spend much time on improving the quality. The warranty is a reflection of such quality; which we will discuss next.
Like most brands by IconFitness, they have a warranty of 90 days. They offer an extended warranty option which we strongly encourage if you choose Healthrider as your treadmill brand. ($89 for 1 year extension, $119 for 2 year extension, $149 for 3 year extension)
In addition, customer service diminishes upon termination of your warranty; a typical Icon drawback.
Summary
If you are seeking a treadmill with a good belt size, then Healthrider treadmills are a possible choice. However, there are better models out there that provide a better value for money.
If you like features and gimmicks, Nordic Track is a brand by Icon Fitness that is jam packed with them.
